“The news I have today is disappointing. In the past day, the number of Kyiv residents who contracted the coronavirus increased by 41 people, including two healthcare workers. Unfortunately, one case is fatal. The capital city has already as many as 335 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” he said during an online press conference on April 9, 2020, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

According to Klitschko, 29 men aged 36 to 70, eleven women aged 26 to 71, and a six-month-old girl are among those infected.
Klitschko said six new patients had been hospitalized, while another 35 were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.
“I would like to note 26 of the new cases have been recorded in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery. It’s hard to imagine the chain of the further transmission of the infection,” the mayor said.
He once again called on Kyiv residents to stay at home during the upcoming Easter holidays and religious events to remember the dead.
