A 10-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy have contracted the coronavirus.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city rose by 31 in the past day, April 18, to 801 cases.

“In the past day, the number of Kyiv residents who contracted the coronavirus increased by 31, including four healthcare workers. Unfortunately, one case was lethal. The capital city has already as many as 801 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” he wrote on Facebook on April 19.

According to Klitschko, 18 women aged 29 to 76, and 26 men aged 26 to 77 are among those infected.

In addition, a 10-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy have contracted the coronavirus.

Klitschko said five new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

“Stay at home on Easter holidays! Take care of yourself and your loved ones! We will overcome all obstacles!” he emphasized.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ukraine stood at 5,449 as of Sunday morning, April 19. A total of 141 COVID-19 deaths and 347 recoveries have been recorded in the country.
