War update: 158 clashes in past day, fiercest battles in Pokrovsk axis

That’s according to a morning update by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

Yesterday, the Russians launched 43 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and at settlements, using 96 KAB glide bombs.

Over 5,000 Russian artillery strikes have been recorded, including 90 by multiple rocket launchers. The Russians also launched 2,120 drones carrying an explosive payload.

The Russian airstrikes targeted the areas of Basivka, Veselivka, Novomykaivka, Mala Korchakivka, Vysoka Yaruha, Kostiantynivka, Bilytske, Odradne, Novavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia.

Over the past day, Ukraine’s aviation, missile and artillery units hit 10 enemy manpower and equipment clusters, an air defense systems, and two “important targets”, which were not specified.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy ran no offensive erations.

In the Kupyansk direction, 10 Russian attacks were recorded. The defense forces repelled the assaults near Petravlivka, Novo-osynove, Kisnykivka, Zahryzove, and Lozova.

In the Lyman direction, the Russians attacked 26 times, trying to advance near Novoyehorivka, Kanky, Makiivka, Noviubivka, Torske, Yampivka, and Zelena Dyna.

In the Siversk direction, Russian tros attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders six times near the settlement of Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 10 clashes were recorded in the areas of Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched 15 attacks near the settlements of Krymske and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders held back 72 Russian assault and offensive efforts in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Myriubivka, Lysivka, Vidrodzhennia, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Andriivka, Dachne, and Ulakly.

In the Novavlivka direction, Russian tros carried out six attacks on positions of Ukrainian tros near the settlements of Kostiantynil, Rozlyv, Rozdne, and Novo-ocheretuvate.

In the Hulyaipe, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovia directions, the enemy ran no assault missions, while pursuing strikes on Ukraine’s positions and civil infrastructure, employing all available types of weapons, actively using attack UAVs.

In the Kursk direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight Russian attacks. The enemy launched 19 airstrikes invving 35 guided bombs, and also carried out 426 artillery strikes on the positions of Ukrainian tros and at local settlements, 12 of which invving MLR systems.

No signs of enemy offensive groups being formed were detected in the Vyn and Pissia directions.

On the border with Russia in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy actively employed artillery and UAVs from across the border line.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russia’s combat casualty tl since Feb 24, 2022, has amounted to an estimated 835,940.
