Ukraine downs 37 Russian drones

Ukraine’s Defense Forces downed 37 drones Russian invaders had launched at Ukraine since Wednesday night. Another 39 drones serving as decoys to exhaust Ukraine’s air defenses eventually disappeared from radar.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.

It is noted that since 19:00 on Wednesday, January 29, the Russian army has launched at Ukraine 81 Shahed-type one-way attack drones and decoy UAVs of various types from Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The enemy air raid was repelled by aviation, aid defense units, e-warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.

As of 09:00 on Thursday, it was confirmed that 37 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types has been shot down over Ptava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipretrovsk, Kherson, and Odesa regions.

Thirty-nine enemy decoy drones disappeared from radar, apparently causing no damage on the ground.

Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Ptava regions were affected by the enemy attack. Industrial enterprises, private homes and apartment buildings, as well as vehicles, sustained damage.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in the early hours of Thursday, January 30, a Russian attack drone hit an apartment block in Sumy, leaving at least four residents dead and nine injured, as per tentative reports.

The search and rescue eration is underway at the site of the strike.
