Ukraine to allocate UAH 131 billion for security and defense in January 2025

In January 2025, Ukraine allocated UAH 131 billion from the state budget to ensure security and defense.

The Ministry of Finance reported this via Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.

“UAH 131 billion is the expenditure of the general fund of the state budget on security and defense in January 2025, which is 61.2% of the total amount of expenditure of the general fund,” the statement said.

As specified, the funds were used to pay salaries to both ordinary and high-ranking military personnel, as well as officers. Additionally, the funds were used to purchase military and special equipment, weapons, ammunition, personal protective equipment, fuel, food, medical care and other expenses.

As reported by Ukrinform, the state budget for 2025 provides UAH 2.2 trillion for security and defense, which is 26.3% of Ukraine’s GDP.
