No consensus in EU on providing frozen Russian funds to Ukraine – Tusk
This was announced by Pish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference for Pish media after Sunday's meeting of the leaders of several EU countries, Great Britain, Norway, Canada and the Turkish Foreign Minister in London, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to Tusk, there is no agreement among European leaders on the issue of transferring frozen Russian funds to Ukraine.

“Everyone recognizes that it would be wiser to use these funds for the defense and reconstruction of Ukraine. However, there are concerns about the negative impact on the euro and the banking system,” Tusk said.
He added that Pand is convincing its partners of the need to transfer funds to Ukraine, but Warsaw's vote will not be decisive, since Pand is not a member of the eurozone.
At the same time, Prime Minister Pisha assured that the income from frozen Russian assets goes to support Ukraine.
At the same time, Tusk stressed that partners should now focus on extending sanctions to freeze Russian assets in the EU for the next period in June. He expressed concerns that Hungary could voice its position on this issue, and that Washington could also influence its decision.

“We need to focus on extending the sanctions because they are effective,” Tusk stressed, adding that their consequences include Russia's financial and economic weakness.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tusk previously stated that the closest possible ties with the US are in the interests of both Ukraine and ER, and emotions should not be allowed to separate ER and the US.
