Govt in war conditions fulfills standards for minimum salary in budget sector – Shmyhal

Under martial law, the Cabinet of Ministers fulfilled the standards of labor legislation regarding the minimum salary of employees of institutions and organizations financed from the budget, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in response to the petition.

"Even under martial law and the priority allocation of state budget expenditures to the needs of the Armed Forces, other military formations, law enforcement and other state bodies involved in the implementation of tasks to repel armed aggression, ensure the inviolability of the state border and protect the state or to implement general mobilization measures in accordance with the law, the government complied with labor legislation regarding the minimum salary of employees of institutions, establishments and organizations financed from the budget," Shmyhal explained in response to the petition.

He emphasized that for the third year in a row, under martial law in the country, all social expenditures have been financed from international donors.

"Taking this into account, the issue of further increasing the salary of an employee of the first tariff category of the unified tariff grid of categories and wage coefficients for employees of institutions, establishments and organizations of individual sectors of the budgetary sphere will be considered taking into account the need for rational and effective use of budget funds at all levels in the context of limited revenue during martial law and the principle of balance, which is one of the key principles of the budget system," the prime minister added.

As reported, on September 22, a petition on the Cabinet of Ministers website calling for an increase in the salary of an employee of the first tariff category of the unified tariff grid received the number of votes required for consideration.
