Government’s gasoline price cap fuels anger among gas stations

Ukrainian gas station chains have successfully pressured the government into partly rolling back new price caps on automotive fuel.

Gas station companies, including WOG, OKKO and SOCAR, stopped selling fuel on May 16, in protest of the Cabinet of Ministers’ May 14 resolution that introduced a maximum margin of Hr 7 per liter of diesel and Hr 5 per liter of gasoline. Fuel sales resumed on May 17.
