Financial, military, humanitarian aid: Shmyhal told what Ukraine expects from partners this year

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that this year Ukraine will receive various types of support totaling 8 billion euros from the European Union, Norway and Spain, as well as 10.6 billion dollars from the United Kingdom and Canada. In addition, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and the Baltic States will also help strengthen Ukraine's resilience.

Shmyhal stated this during a government meeting, as reported by Ukrinform with reference to the government portal.

“Yesterday, leaders of friendly countries arrived in Kyiv. We held a major summit “Let's Support Ukraine”, which was also joined online by dozens of high-profile representatives of European and Asian countries. We witnessed the unwavering support of our partners on Ukraine's path to a just world. We have specific and significant results in providing various forms of assistance,” Shmyhal noted.

Shmyhal specified that in March the EU will allocate 3.5 billion euros to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program. At the same time, the UK will provide 4.5 billion pounds sterling ($5.6 billion) in military aid this year.

In addition, Canada will offer new military equipment, a grant to rebuild energy infrastructure, and $5 billion from the seizure of Russian assets. Norway will provide 3.5 billion euros in military, economic, humanitarian, and energy support.

Spain has announced a €1 billion military aid package, while Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and the Baltics will also contribute to support Ukraine's resilience.

“We sincerely appreciate every manifestation of solidarity and see it as an investment in the security of a united European Union,” he added.

On February 24, the Support Ukraine summit was held in Kyiv, attended by more than 40 leaders of states, institutions and international organizations both online and offline.
