Why you shouldn't use the quick wash mode

The washing machine has long become our reliable assistant. But do you know everything about how to use it correctly? We didn't know a lot, as it turned out. Especially about the quick wash mode. It turns out that it's not as good as we thought, informs Ukr.Media.

The editorial team understands the different modes of the washing machine and tells you everything about high-quality washing.

Quick wash mode

So, first about the quick washing modes. In different machines they are called differently. For example, “express” or “mini”. This is a mode in which clothes are washed from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the selected temperature. Of course, this is convenient, because you can wash all the clothes in two hours. However, fast does not mean high-quality.

The thing is that this mode provides a quick wash and only one rinse cycle. Even at high temperatures, things do not wash well. In addition, in this mode, traces of powder may remain on things. Then you will have to run an additional rinse, which requires additional time. In the end, it does not come out quickly and not very qualitatively.

So this mode is not at all such a find as they say. The maximum for which it is good is for washing almost not dirty things. For example, to refresh a T-shirt and socks after a workout. In this case, a quick wash is quite justified.

Which mode to choose

Many people think that washing machine modes are just an excess offered by the manufacturer. However, each of the modes has its own specific function. And we would like to talk about it in more detail. After all, it can qualitatively change the washing process. So, let's consider the main functions that are available in almost all machines.

Cotton

This washing mode is available in all machines. It is the most common and is most often used for washing cotton bed linen. The maximum temperature can reach 95 degrees. This is an excellent mode to wash bed linen well and get rid of all germs. If you want to wash in a mode that is more gentle on the fabric, you can reduce the water temperature and the number of revolutions.

Synthetic

This mode is suitable for washing everything that is not made of natural fabrics. For example, blouses and shirts made of polyamide and polyester. The water temperature is lower here. Usually, it is from 40 to 60 degrees. It washes everyday things well.

Wool

This is a special mode for wool items. Washing at a low temperature prevents shrinkage and deformation of items. The drum rotates more slowly, which prevents the item from spoiling. It is worth considering that for washing such items, the drum should be loaded 2 or even 3 times less than the maximum.

Delicate wash

This mode is for items made of thin fabrics. Also suitable for items with decorative elements. Washing takes place at low temperatures and low spin speeds. An indispensable mode for delicate items.

Intensive washing

It also happens that you need to wash a very dirty item in the machine. Then the normal mode will not cope, you need an intensive wash. If the item is made of dense fabric, then you can safely use this mode.

As you can see, there are different modes. And each of them has its own functions. Of course, in our fast-paced world, we want to speed up any processes, but this is not always beneficial. To slightly reduce the washing time, you can reduce the temperature. In fact, most modern things do not need to be boiled at a temperature of 95 degrees. 40 degrees is enough to wash everything perfectly.

The same goes for the spin speed. It's better to set a lower spin speed and then just dry the clothes longer. But this will reduce the washing time and preserve the color of the clothes.

We hope our tips will help you make the laundry process more enjoyable and easier!
