Finland not planning to send tros to Ukraine

Finnish President Alexander Stubb td a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Sttenberg that neither his country nor the Alliance in general are looking into deploying tros in Ukraine.

That’s according to Yle, Ukrinform reports.

Sttenberg has said the Alliance has no plans to send tros to Ukraine. Instead the allies will focus on long-term support for Kyiv, he added.

For his part, Stubb noted that Finland has no intention to send its forces to Ukraine either.

The NATO chief, while answering the journalists' questions, said the Alliance is currently seeing no direct threat of a Russian attack on member states. In addition, Sttenberg highly praised Finland’s military potential and its good knowledge of Russia.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on May 31, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani of Italy stated that his country’s Constitution does not allow for deploying armed forces to Ukraine or using Italian weapons outside its borders, given that Italy is not at war with Russia, but is only helping Ukraine defend itself.
