Stefanchuk expects speakers of parliaments of Global South countries to visit Ukraine

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expects that the speakers of the parliaments of the Global South countries will come to Ukraine on official visits.

"Global South: China, India, Indonesia, Türke, Brazil, Mexico, and others. I would be happy to welcome to Ukraine the heads of the parliaments of the mentioned countries, in particular newly elected speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türke Numan Kurtulmuş who accepted the invitation to visit Kyiv," Stefanchuk said at the conference of Ukraine’s ambassadors, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He noted that Ukraine's Independence Day could be the possible date for the visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Türke. According to the Verkhovna Rada Chairman, it would be very symbic. Stefanchuk asked the Embassy of Ukraine in Türke to work on the visit of Kurtulmuş to Ukraine.

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament also said that he had sent a letter to Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Pele's Congress of the Pele's Republic of China Zhao Leji. At the same time, Stefanchuk called on Ambassador of Ukraine to China Pavlo Riabikin to work out further steps regarding Ukraine–China coeration.

"I also count on further coeration with the G20 countries. The G20 parliamentary summit is to be held in India this November. We have already received certain signals from Deputy Minister of External Affairs of India Sanjay Verma who recently visited Kyiv. I ask Ambassador eksandr Pishchuk to take this issue under special contr," Stefanchuk added.

At the same time, he emphasized the need to strengthen the coeration of the Verkhovna Rada with the parliaments of the countries of Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America – those regions where the Russian Federation continues to promote its narratives.
