Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced specific activity on certain sections of the border between Ukraine and Belarus. According to him, the Ukrainian side is closely monitoring the situation and is ready to respond if necessary.
He announced this during his daily address on May 2.
“The day before yesterday, there was quite specific activity on the border of Ukraine and Belarus – from the Belarusian side. We are carefully recording everything, monitoring everything, and, if necessary, we will react,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President also stressed that Ukraine is ready to defend its citizens and state sovereignty. According to him, this should be understood by everyone who may try to involve them in any aggressive activity against Ukraine.
On April 17, the Ukrainian president said that Russia was trying to drag Belarus into war. At the same time, he noted that roads towards Ukraine and artillery positions were being built in the border areas of Belarus.
