Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is part of the system in Russia, and someone similar could come to power in the Russian Federation after him. And United States President Donald Trump has a good relationship with Putin.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.
“I don't know how to talk about his [Trump's] relationship with Putin. I want to be very honest, it's not a question of trust or distrust, he has a relationship that I can't evaluate or understand. (…) I think sometimes his attitude towards Putin is better than Putin deserves,” Zelensky believes.
He added that he does not trust Putin on the issue of a peace agreement and that the matter is not only with the Kremlin leader as such, but also with the Russian system in general, with Putin's entourage. He said that nothing will change in Moscow's attitude towards Ukraine, even if another person takes Putin's place.
Trump has previously said that he trusts Putin and has a good relationship with him.
