Aliyev said that Russia shelled Azerbaijani targets in Ukraine three times

Russia has attacked Azerbaijani targets in Ukraine at least three times during its full-scale invasion, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said. He noted that Baku had once given Moscow all the coordinates of its diplomatic missions in Ukraine — and despite that, the Russian shelling continued. Aliyev called it a “deliberate attack” and an “unfriendly step” by Russia.

Context : The last such attack occurred on the night of November 14, 2025. As a result of Russian shelling of Kyiv, the Azerbaijani embassy was damaged: a crack appeared in the embassy building, and diplomats' cars were damaged. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador, Mikhail Evdokimov, on the same day and handed him a note of protest.

In most regions, lights will be turned off according to schedules

On Sunday, February 15, most regions of Ukraine will have hourly power outage schedules and power restrictions for industry, Ukrenergo reported. The time and volume of power outages will be updated on the regional energy company's pages. Energy experts once again remind that the situation in the energy system is volatile, so it is worth monitoring updates in your region. And when electricity appears, use it sparingly.

They also reached an agreement on the exchange of prisoners – the first such exchange in five months took place on February 5. The negotiations will be held in Geneva on February 17-18.

Finland may review Russians' real estate purchase agreements in the country

The Finnish government is studying the possibility of reviewing real estate deals concluded over the past 20 years by Russians without EU passports, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkanen said. The purpose of the review is national security. Currently, various ministries are investigating how it is legally possible to intervene “retroactively” in real estate transactions made in Finland by citizens of countries outside the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA).

Context : A ban on real estate transactions for citizens of Russia and Belarus has come into force in Finland since the summer of 2025. This government decision was aimed at strengthening national security. The amendment does not apply to persons with dual citizenship of Russia and another EU or EEA country, as well as to persons who have a permanent EU residence permit issued by Finland.
