Billionaire Elon Musk is set to maintain his role as a friend and advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, even after departing from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Vance stated during an appearance on Fox News, as reported by Reuters.

“There remains a substantial amount of work to accomplish at DOGE, and indeed, that effort will persist following Elon’s departure. Ultimately, Elon will continue to be a friend and advisor to both myself and the president,” Vance mentioned.

The day prior, Politico and ABC News disclosed that Trump had informed his cabinet that Musk would soon be exiting and returning to the private sector, although it was unclear if Musk would leave before the conclusion of his 130-day term as a special government official, which is expected around late May.

  • On March 19, notable American investor Ross Gerber, whose firm holds approximately 260,000 Tesla shares valued at around $105 million, urged Musk to either concentrate on the company or resign from his position as CEO.
  • On April 1, Trump declared that DOGE would discontinue its operations, and Musk would revert to his business endeavors.
