FIFA has presented an updated world ranking of men's national football teams after the March 2026 World Cup qualifying matches. Ukraine has dropped two places in it – it is in 32nd place.
The Ukrainian national team has lost two places and is currently in 32nd place. At the beginning of March, the team was in 30th place. The “blue-yellows” have 1546.88 points. Among the representatives of the European association (UEFA), the Ukrainian national team is in 15th place.
The current figure is the national team's lowest result in the last eight years. The last time Ukraine was below 32nd place was in August 2018, when the team was in 35th place with 1,468 points.
The change in positions occurred following the results of two matches of Serhiy Rebrov's wards in March. In the semi-finals of the World Cup qualifying playoff, Ukraine lost to the Swedish national team with a score of 1:3 and did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup. And in a friendly match, the Ukrainian team defeated the Albanian national team with a score of 1:0.
Due to these results, Ukraine was overtaken in the ranking by the national teams of Norway and Egypt.
What changes have occurred in the FIFA rankings?
- The leader changed in the updated standings: the French team took first place, ahead of Spain and Argentina after two victories in the qualifying matches.
- Vietnam has entered the top 100. After defeating Malaysia (3:1) in the final match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the team immediately rose 9 places to 99th in the world with a score of 1,226.45 points, the biggest update in the current ranking.
- The Ukrainian national team is 4.6 points behind Norway, which is in 31st place, and 6.24 points ahead of Panama, which is in 33rd place.

The Ukrainian national team will play their next official match in September against Hungary in the Nations League. At the same time, the team will have another window in June to play friendly matches in preparation for the World Cup.
