The Netherlands has allocated an additional 35 million euros to Ukraine for energy support. The funds will be used to install solar power plants on the roofs of critical facilities, primarily hospitals, to ensure electricity supply during emergency outages.
This is reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
On February 10, 2026, the Netherlands announced an additional contribution of EUR 35 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The total amount of assistance through the Fund now amounts to EUR 100 million.
The new funds will be used to implement the “Ray of Hope” initiative, which involves installing solar power systems on the roofs of critical infrastructure buildings. The main goal of the project is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to hospitals and other important facilities even during emergency power outages caused by massive Russian attacks.
“We thank the Netherlands for its unwavering support for the Ukrainian energy sector,” said Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.
To date, the total amount of signed contributions from international partners to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine exceeds €1.8 billion. At the same time, Russia's targeted attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure continue to increase the needs of the energy sector.
Thanks to the support of international partners, Ukraine is strengthening the resilience of the energy system and reducing the risks of power outages for critical facilities in wartime.
