The GUR published details and data on the manufacturers of Russian guided artillery ammunition “Krasnopol-M2” on the War&Sanctions portal

Ukrainian intelligence on the War&Sanctions portal in the “Weapon Components” section has published an interactive 3D model, details, and information about the enterprises involved in the production of Russian Krasnopol-M2 guided artillery ammunition.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GUR MO).

They explained that “Krasnopol” is a guided high-explosive fragmentation munition of 152 mm caliber, which is used from self-propelled artillery installations “Msta-s”, “Akatsiya”, as well as in towed howitzers “Msta-B” and “D-20”. Guidance is carried out by laser illumination of the target – from ground-based complexes or using UAVs, in particular “Orlan-30” and “Granat-4”.

The developer and main manufacturer of the ammunition is the “Design Bureau of Instrumentation named after Academician A. G. Shipunov”, which is part of the “High-precision Complexes” holding of the state corporation “Rostec”. Intelligence sources say that in early April this structure publicly announced the next deliveries of these shells for use in the war against Ukraine.

Thus, the Krasnopol-M2 round contains a 3of95 high-explosive fragmentation projectile, a propelling charge, and a special package. Depending on the system modification and charge, the range of impact is over 20 kilometers.

“As part of the update, the structure of the shells was made public, as well as a list of 17 enterprises involved in their production,” the Ministry of Defense's GUR said.

The intelligence officers emphasized that five of them are still not under sanctions by any of Ukraine's partner states, despite their participation in the manufacture of key components, including guidance system elements, steering drive electric motors, and warhead fuses.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence on the War&Sanctions portal in the “Tools of War” section published data on 50 units of foreign equipment used by Russian shipbuilding and ship repair plants to service and build ships of the Russian Navy.
