The Versailles Academy in France received textbooks on teaching the Ukrainian language for teaching Ukrainian children in colleges and lyceums.
The Embassy of Ukraine in France reported this on Facebook.
“Step by step, we are working to make the opportunity to study the Ukrainian language in French colleges and lyceums available to as many Ukrainian children as possible,” the message says.
Among the textbooks depicted in the photo of the Embassy in France:
- “Ukrainian Language” (grades 9, 11) Oleksandr Avramenko;
- “Silver Bird” (11th grade) Hryhoriy Semenyuk, Mykola Tkachuk, Anatoliy Hulyak;
- “Ukraine is Amazing” (grades 5–9) Serhiy Udovik.
The books were provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Institute for Modernization of Educational Content.
In September 2025, colleges and lyceums in four educational districts of France (Paris, Versailles, Creteil, Nice) began teaching Ukrainian as a second foreign language.
When studying under the French program, students have the opportunity to choose Ukrainian among foreign languages, and also, starting in 2027, take the Ukrainian language exam for the French state BAC exam.
