“Seize the opportunity.” Five Iranian women's soccer team members receive humanitarian visas in Australia

Australia has granted humanitarian visas to Iranian national football team players due to possible persecution by the authorities, Reuters reported.

The reason for granting humanitarian visas to the athletes was their fear of persecution in their homeland for refusing to sing the anthem. In this way, the national team's players reacted to the start of military actions by Israel and the United States against Iran.

In early March, the Iranian women's national team took part in the first round of the Asian Cup. The match traditionally began with the national anthems of the participating countries, but the Iranian women's national team players refused to sing the national anthem in protest against the actions of their own authorities, in particular, the players noted that they “hope that this will benefit the country .”
