On the night of February 9, military radar systems once again recorded the entry of unknown “objects” resembling balloons into Polish airspace.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported this on the social network X.
They say that these “objects” were constantly “identified” and monitored by military intelligence systems.
“The situation was fully controlled and did not pose any threat to air traffic safety or Polish citizens,” the department noted.
In addition, the statement says that the military, acting in accordance with current procedures, is cooperating with the services responsible for Poland's security.
Poland records balloon invasion from Belarus
On the night of January 31, the Polish military recorded “objects” approaching its borders with Belarus. Presumably, they were balloons. Because of this, temporary restrictions were introduced on the use of part of the airspace for civil aviation over the Podlaskie Voivodeship.
On the night of February 1, the Belarusian side once again tried to “conduct reconnaissance and check the reaction of Polish air defense systems,” which recorded objects similar to balloons that had flown into Polish airspace. The next night, February 2, the incident repeated itself.
