Polish fighter jets intercept Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane over international waters of the Baltic Sea
This was written about on the social network X by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
“This is another aggressive action by the Russian Federation and a test of our air defense systems. Flights with transponders turned off may pose a threat to other aircraft. Every such provocation will be met with an immediate reaction from our pilots,” he said.
This is not the first time that Poland has intercepted Russian aircraft: indeed, Polish F-16s already took to the skies on April 8 and 10 due to the activity of the Il-20.
