Who is Ozzy Osbourne?

Ozzy Osbourne (real name John Michael Osbourne) was born on December 3, 1948 in Birmingham, United Kingdom, into a poor working-class family.

He was interested in music from an early age, but had a difficult personality and learning difficulties. After a short stint in prison, he decided to become a musician and, with Tony Iommi and others, founded the band Black Sabbath, which became a foundation for heavy metal.

In 1979, Osbourne began a successful solo career, released a number of cult albums and became famous as an outrageous artist, in particular due to the bat incident – when the artist bit off the head of a bat right at his concert during a performance.

He also became a TV star, organized the Ozzfest festival, and supported Ukraine in 2022.

His awards include an Ivor Novello, five Grammy Awards (he was nominated 12 times), NME Godlike Genius, and Classic Rock Living Legend.

Osborne supported Ukraine and condemned Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. In particular, together with his wife Sharon, he decided to settle several Ukrainian families on his estate in Buckinghamshire.
