Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban proposed sending a mission to Ukraine to inspect the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline.
He wrote about this in a letter to the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, which is at the disposal of the Public.
Orban noted that Hungary is interested in the speedy resumption of oil transportation through the Druzhba. According to him, the country is ready to constructively participate in all measures that contribute to achieving this goal.
“Hungary supports the idea of conducting a fact-finding mission with the participation of experts delegated by Hungary and Slovakia to inspect the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline. Hungary will accept the conclusions of such a mission,” Orbán stressed.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the political difficulties caused by the delay in implementing the European Council conclusions on financial support for Ukraine, and noted that his initiative is aimed at resolving this issue in a timely manner.
