
On the night of February 12, Russia launched 219 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones, as well as 24 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles and 1 Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missile over Ukraine. As a result of air-to-air combat, Ukrainian air defense neutralized 197 UAVs and 16 missiles.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
They said that this latest Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that the main areas of attack were Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa.
“According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 am, air defense systems shot down/suppressed 213 air targets: 15 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles; 1 Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missile; 197 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas UAVs and drones of other types,” the report says.
The air force added that as a result of the attack, 9 missiles and 19 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 13 locations, as well as falling debris at 14 locations. At the same time, the Russian air attack continues – several drones are in Ukrainian skies.
