
Norway is providing Ukraine with $9 billion in funding for 2026. This is another package of military and civilian assistance to Ukraine under the Nansen Program.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, today Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced the assistance during his visit to Kyiv.
Svyrydenko noted that the new aid package is a continuation of partnership relations with Norway, which, among other things, has made the largest contributions within the PURL initiative, which allows significantly strengthening Ukrainian air defense.
“Today, the greatest emphasis was placed on energy security. Norway's assistance in gas imports and contributions to the Energy Support Fund and grants are extremely important. Norway is providing distributed generation equipment, which will operate at the facilities of the Naftogaz Group,” the Prime Minister noted.
The parties discussed promising investment projects that can be supported by Norfund instruments.
Previously, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Sweden contributed 420 million euros to purchase American weapons for Ukraine as part of the PURL initiative.
