Iran accused Trump of lying about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the agreement on uranium enrichment

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that US leader Donald Trump is spreading false information, including about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's enriched uranium reserves.

He wrote about this on the social network X, and The Jerusalem Post also writes about it.

According to him, this will not help the US succeed either in negotiations or on the battlefield.

“The President of the United States made seven statements in one hour, and all seven were false. The President of the United States made seven accusations in one hour, each of which is a lie. With these false accusations, they did not win the war, and they will not succeed in negotiations either,” Ghalibaf wrote.

According to him, if the blockade continues, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed. Passage through it will take place along a “specified route” and only with “Iran's permission”, and the rules of navigation “will be determined by the battlefield, not social media.”

“Media warfare and manipulation of public opinion are an important part of the war, and the Iranian nation will not be harmed by these tricks,” Ghalibaf wrote.

He called for “real and accurate news about the negotiations” in a recent statement by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bahaaei, who stressed that Tehran would not transfer its enriched uranium anywhere, contrary to Trump's previous claims that Iran had agreed to do so.

“Iran's enriched uranium will not be transferred anywhere. Transferring uranium to the United States was not an option for us,” Bahai noted.

As a reminder, on April 17, US President Donald Trump announced that Iran had agreed to stop enriching uranium, confirming a potential breakthrough in the negotiations.

In particular, when asked whether Iran had agreed to stop enriching uranium, Trump replied: “Yes.”

“Are you surprised? I'm not surprised anymore,” Trump commented.

In addition, the day before, in a comment to Bloomberg, the head of the White House stated that “Iran has agreed to suspend its nuclear program indefinitely” and “will not receive any frozen assets.”

“Negotiations on a long-term agreement will likely take place this weekend. Most of the major points have been finalized. It will happen fairly quickly,” the American leader said.

Trump also said he “may” travel to Pakistan, where talks between Iranian and US representatives are taking place. But Trump did not say who would lead the US delegation.
