In the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo, the search and rescue efforts at the Jet Set club have concluded, where the roof caved in during a concert on April 8. A total of 221 bodies have been discovered, as reported by Reuters.

Following the conclusion of the search, the families of the missing departed the vicinity of the nightclub where they had gathered in the aftermath of the disaster.

No survivors have been located beneath the debris over the last two days. Over 150 injured individuals were rescued from the rubble on the first day following the roof’s collapse.

Dominican authorities have yet to identify the potential reasons behind the building’s failure.

As stated by presidential spokesman Homero Figueroa, the government has sanctioned the formation of a team of national and international specialists to examine the causes of the incident.

The precise number of attendees at the concert performed by singer Ruby Perez, during which the roof fell, remains uncertain.

Among those present at the concert were notable figures who perished.

  • On November 1, 2024, a section of the outer roof at a train station in Novi Sad, northern Serbia, collapsed, resulting in the deaths of 15 individuals.
  • On March 16, 2025, a blaze erupted at the Pulse nightclub during a performance by the band DNK in the Macedonian city of Kočani, claiming the lives of fifty-nine people and injuring many others.
  • On March 17, twenty individuals were arrested in North Macedonia after the nightclub fire that resulted in 59 fatalities.
