In Belgorod, Russia, power and heating outages are reported after the attacks

The authorities of the Russian city of Belgorod have announced damage to infrastructure facilities as a result of missile attacks. The city has experienced large-scale disruptions in electricity, heat, and gas supplies.

This was announced by the Mayor of Belgorod Vyacheslav Demidov and the Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

According to Demidov, at around 8 pm on February 7, the city was allegedly hit by a rocket attack. There are no reports of casualties or damage to residential buildings, but infrastructure has been damaged again. In recent days, the city has been experiencing power and water outages.

“The city is continuously carrying out restoration work on municipal infrastructure facilities. In neighborhoods where it is necessary, backup sources of electricity generation are being connected to apartment buildings,” Demidov said.

The governor of the region, Gladkov, reported that the attacks continued on the night of February 8. He described the energy situation as difficult. According to him, about 80,000 residents of Belgorod were left without heat, about three thousand without gas, and about a thousand more without electricity.

He assured that the city's electricity supply is planned to be restored in the near future, and gas workers should return gas to apartments in the morning.

“The only big problem remains with heat. We are waiting for heat to be supplied until 12 noon,” the governor added.

Due to the lack of heat supply in Belgorod, heating points are being opened for the population.
