Fico complained that Lithuania and Latvia closed the skies for his flight to the parade in Moscow

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said Latvia and Lithuania would not allow his plane to fly through their airspace to attend the parade in Moscow. Estonia also joined the ban.

He said this in a video message on Facebook.

The Slovak Prime Minister expressed his incomprehension of such a decision, emphasizing that it is a restriction for the Prime Minister of a European Union member state.

Fico said he plans to visit Moscow on May 9, when Russia is holding celebrations on the occasion of the so-called Victory Day. At the same time, European leaders have repeatedly called on them to refrain from participating in these events.

In particular, last year, EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Kaia Kallas called on European politicians to boycott the celebrations in Moscow.

Despite this, Robert Fico visited the Russian capital on May 9 last year. Then, according to him, there were problems with the route after Estonia did not allow the flight through its airspace.

Estonia has also banned Slovak Prime Minister Fico from flying through its airspace to Russia for the May 9 celebrations. This means that all three Baltic countries have closed their airspace to Robert Fico, the Estonian Foreign Ministry announced.
