China exports drones to Russia via Thailand

Skyhub Technologies Ltd. is the second largest importer of drones from China. Most of the drones are then re-exported to Russia, which is legal.

Employees told Bloomberg anonymously about this.

According to the documents, Skyhub Technologies is the second largest importer of drones from China to Thailand. Where they end up is not recorded. Most of the drones imported into the country are re-exported to Russia, which is completely legal, the media added.

“In the 11 months to the end of November 2025, Russia imported drones worth $125 million from Thailand, which is 88% of Thailand's total UAV exports and 8 times more than what was purchased in the previous year,” the material investigated.

Until now, Thailand has largely gone unnoticed as a route to Russia. However, an analysis of official Thai trade data shows that drone exports from the country to Russia have increased sharply since 2022, the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Thailand, in turn, has exported more drones than it has from China.

The imports through Skyhub Technologies were from Autel Robotics, one of the largest drone manufacturers in China. When asked about its relationship with Skyhub Technologies, Autel told Bloomberg that it could not discuss customers due to confidentiality reasons.

At the same time, they noted that their drones are intended for civilian use and are equipped with a system that allegedly prevents flights in the conflict zone between Russia and Ukraine.

Skyhub Technologies has not made any public statements regarding the import of drones.

As a reminder, on February 20, Ukrainian intelligence published data on 31 more vessels involved in the transportation of Russian oil and liquefied gas on the War&Sanctions portal. These ships belong to the shadow fleet of the Russian Federation and sail under the flags of various countries.
