A court in Wisconsin has sentenced 18-year-old Nikita Kasap, who killed both his parents and planned to assassinate US President Donald Trump, to life in prison.
This is reported by the Associated Press.
In January 2026, Nikita Kasap reached a plea deal with investigators. He pleaded guilty to murdering both his parents. In exchange, prosecutors dropped seven other charges against him, including two counts of concealing a corpse and theft.
First-degree murder in Wisconsin carries a mandatory life sentence. But the court can include parole eligibility in the sentence. The judge in the case imposed a sentence of two life terms without parole.
What is known about the case?
According to investigators, Nikita Kasap shot and killed his mother, Tatiana Kasap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, in their home on or about February 11, 2025. Their bodies were found in their home. According to investigators, the woman suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and neck, and the man suffered a fatal head wound.
Investigators determined that the teenager continued to live in the house with the bodies of the deceased until February 23, after which he fled in his stepfather's SUV, taking $14,000 in cash, jewelry, passports, his stepfather's gun and the family dog. The boy was arrested during a roadside stop in Kansas on February 28.
Investigators found materials on Nikita's phone related to the “Order of Nine Corners” — “a network of individuals who adhere to neo-Nazi racially motivated extremist views.” There was also a manifesto — a three-page document calling for the assassination of US President Donald Trump to supposedly “save the white race.”
Witnesses in the case told investigators that Nikita Kasap spoke of “contacts with someone from Russia.” Along with this contact, he allegedly planned an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
