A shooting occurred at Aysel Çalık High School in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaraş. Medics and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

What is known about the shooting in Turkey?
Media reported that 16-year-old Ihsan Aras Mersinli started the school shooting.
The Turkish Interior Ministry reported that as of 17:44 on April 15 , 9 people were killed and 20 were injured in Kahramanmaraş. Among the victims are a teacher and children.
Law enforcement officers and the children's parents arrived at the scene. Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci also went to the school.
The attacker is an 8th grader. His father is a former police officer. It is believed that he took his father's gun. The attacker came with 5 pistols and 7 magazines and attacked 2 classrooms,
Governor Unluer said.
Justice Minister Akin Gurlek announced that the prosecutor's office has already launched an investigation and emphasized the ban on publishing information about its progress.
Law enforcement officials reported that the attacker first fired into the air in the schoolyard, and then moved to the school building itself.
Unluer noted that the attacker shot himself inside the school after the crime. The father of the 8th grader who committed the crime has already been arrested.
Minister Memishokoglu reported that the injured are in local hospitals, and doctors are closely monitoring their condition.
