The enemy is trying to advance with infiltration groups, but the Defense Forces are quickly destroying the enemy on the approach, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) write.

How has the situation at the front changed?

Enemy troops do not give up attempts to achieve success on at least one of the front lines, but this does not bring significant results.

During April 7 and 8, Russia attacked in Sumy and Kursk regions , in particular near Sopych, Myropillya, and Glushkov. In Kursk region, near Kucherov. Analysts noted that the enemy was unable to advance on this section of the front.

Instead, the occupiers managed to penetrate into the north of Kharkiv region . At the same time, this infiltration operation did not change control over the area. On April 8, Russian forces continued offensive operations north of Borova near Novoplatonivka and southeast of Borova near Hrekivka and Tverdokhlibovoye, but did not advance.

In the Slavyansk direction, the occupation army was also unable to advance. Instead, according to Russian military sources, Ukrainian troops counterattacked in northern Nikiforivka and in Fedorivka Drugya, both southeast of Slavyansk.

On April 8, enemy forces continued offensive operations in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area, but made no confirmed progress. Russian military bloggers claim that their army advanced near Minkivka, while the Defense Forces counterattacked near Kostyantynivka itself.

Another Russian military blogger claimed that Russian troops conducted offensive operations east of Dobropillya near Novy Donbas on April 7 and northeast of Dobropillya towards Kucheriv Yar, but ISW analysts have no evidence to assess any progress in this direction.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced in the Pokrovske direction , in particular east of Molodetsky, which is southwest of Pokrovsk. But, according to a Russian military blogger, they counterattacked near Hryshynye and Molodetsky, which are southwest of Pokrovsk. Meanwhile, the occupiers are infiltrating north of Hryshynye, but control over the area or the edge of the combat zone has not changed.

During April 7 and 8, Russian troops continued their offensive near Novopavlivka itself, near Muravka, Dachny, and Filia. However, they did not achieve success.

Fighting also continued in the Oleksandrivka direction , but no advances were recorded. A Russian military blogger claimed that Ukrainian troops counterattacked in the direction of Dobropasovo and Hai.

There were no changes in control of the territory in the Hulyaipil direction .

The situation is similar in the west of Zaporizhia region .

In the Kherson direction on April 7, Russian troops continued limited ground operations, but did not advance.

What losses did Russia suffer for minor successes at the front?
