Stepan Maletsky, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war from Ivano-Frankivsk region, passed away on January 24. He voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served for two years in the Zaporizhia direction in the Hulyaipol area.

The tragic news was reported on the Rohatyn City Council's Facebook page.

What is known about Stepan Maletsky?

Stepan Maletsky was born on August 11, 1988 in Rohatyn. There he graduated from local school No. 1 and received a degree in mechanics from the Rohatyn Agrarian College. Later, the man completed his military service.

In 2013, Stepan Maletskyi got married, and two years later the couple had a daughter, Nastya.

On March 3, 2022, Stepan became a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: he served as a sniper in the fire support company, and spent two years in the Zaporizhia direction.

Two years – difficult everyday life for a soldier. Injuries, contusions. After a serious illness of his mother – release to take care of her. Yesterday (January 24, – 24 Channel) the soldier’s heart stopped,

  • On January 21, 2026, soldier Serhiy Zadorozhny died while performing a combat mission at the front. He served as the commander of the crew of unmanned aerial systems of the 1st Separate Heavy Mechanized Siver Brigade.

  • A 28-year-old UAV operator, Viktor Kushnir from Kryvyi Rih, was killed in the Kharkiv region. Viktor served in the 43rd brigade and performed combat missions as an operator of reconnaissance and strike drones.

  • The life of a soldier from the village of Borova in the Kyiv region, Yevheniy Veres, was cut short at the front. The fallen soldier is survived by his mother, father, three younger sisters, his beloved girlfriend, relatives, and friends.
