War in Ukraine: latest news

  • President Zelensky recently stated that Belarus is preparing artillery positions near the Ukrainian border and signed a decree on the call-up of reserve officers to military service. Taras Zhovtenko, an expert on international security at the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, expressed the opinion to Channel 24 that Russia is thus preparing to deploy active operations on NATO's eastern flank and wants to use Belarusian territory as a launching pad for drones, artillery systems, and ballistics.

  • Meanwhile, some tasks at the front are already being performed using ground robotic complexes. Vasyl Denisyuk, spokesman for the 66th Mstislav Khorobry Separate Rifle Brigade, told Channel 24 that his unit uses ground robotic complexes primarily for logistics and evacuation of wounded soldiers.

  • Vasyl Denisyuk also said that it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Russians to replenish their army due to high losses. This has already affected the fighting, as the Ukrainian military has noticed a slight reduction in the number of occupiers.
