Ukraine has lost another defender. Serhiy Shulepov, who was considered missing in action, died in the war.
This was announced by the mayor of Novovolynsk, Borys Karpus.
What is known about the deceased defender?
The death of the soldier was confirmed by DNA examination. He was born in 1982 in the city of Novovolynsk.
Before that, the defender was considered missing. Officially, Serhiy Shulepov was declared dead on January 16, 2026. The Ukrainian soldier's heart stopped in the Kharkiv region near the settlement of Nesterne.
Borys Karpus reported that the soldier will be buried on Tuesday, May 26, on the Alley of Heroes' Glory. At 1:30 p.m., a memorial service and farewell will begin at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Novovolynsk.
