Sibiga emphasized that US participation is critically important both for advancing negotiations and for increasing pressure on Russia.

I don't believe, or it's unrealistic to achieve a real process of completing our peace efforts without the American side. It's impossible. We need their participation, but at the same time we need their influence and pressure on Russia,

Important! Recently, Vladimir Putin declared his readiness to meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky not only in Moscow, but also in other countries, but only if final agreements are reached for the long term. At the same time, political strategist Taras Zagorodny, commenting on these statements, suggested in a conversation with Channel 24 that the Russian dictator is bluffing. Russia-Ukraine peace talks: latest news

On May 12, before meeting with Xi Jinping in China, US President Donald Trump expressed his belief that the war in Ukraine would end very soon.

On May 11, Kyiv suggested that Europe start negotiations with Russia on an “airport truce.” The idea is to help negotiate with the Kremlin a mutual refusal to strike at airports. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga believes that such a proposal could be beneficial to Russia.

In an interview with Channel 24, Advisor to the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak said that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are possible, but there are some conditions. The Kremlin will agree to dialogue if the Defense Forces significantly destroy Russian defense capabilities and the oil industry. Podoliak also emphasized that Western partners should be more active in helping Ukraine inflict large-scale strikes on Russian oil infrastructure. It is in this case that the Russian rhetoric will change.
