Russia is preparing for a spring-summer offensive – where the enemy remains most active now

Main points

  • The Russian army is not reducing the pressure on the front and is preparing for new offensive attempts.
  • Military observer Ivan Tymochko reported that preparations for the offensive are already visible along the entire front line.

Despite heavy losses, the Russian army does not reduce the pressure on the front and does not abandon new offensive attempts. After a short decrease in the number of attacks, the enemy regroups again and prepares forces to continue the spring-summer campaign.

Military commentator Ivan Tymochko stated on Channel 24 that such preparations are already visible along the entire front line. He explained where the Russians remain most active and why it is too early to talk about the loss of their offensive potential.

Russia's spring-summer campaign

The Russians are currently active in the same areas that were the hottest before. The most fighting continues to occur in the Pokrovsky direction and the Kostyantynivka area. The Hulyaipil direction remains one of the next in terms of the number of attacks. There were also attempts by the enemy to become more active in the northern-seversky area, in particular in the Sumy region, but there were only a few clashes there.

By the way: during the so-called “Easter Truce”, Russian attacks did not stop, and the intensity of the fighting did not drop. During this time, the Russians brought up equipment, regrouped forces and replenished personnel, and since the ceasefire was announced, they have violated the agreements 10,721 times and carried out 119 assaults.

The nature of the war itself has not changed, notes Tymochko; during the “Easter Truce” only the number of attacks decreased, but not their intensity or the scale of pressure along the entire front line.

Along the entire front line, enemy forces are currently regrouping and preparing to continue this spring-summer campaign.
– emphasized Tymochko.

In early March, the Russians already tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses, but that attack was thwarted. Now they are preparing for new attempts again and are trying to use all the resources they still have. It is too early to talk about the loss of offensive potential, because even without a serious advantage on the battlefield, the enemy continues to press and throw forces into the battle further.

If at least a few more such attempts at activation fail, with huge losses, then we can really say that the Russian army is starting to lose its offensive potential,
– he said.

As of today, the Russian army does not have a total advantage, but is trying to use everything it has, which is why Ukrainian fighters have to contain this invasion in very difficult and dangerous conditions. There is no other option, because where the enemy can advance, he carries out not just assaults, but killings and destruction.

Latest news from the front:

  • The amount of ground fighting during the “Easter Truce” was lower than usual, and missile and drone strikes on Ukraine were kept to a minimum. At the same time, the Russians continued their provocations, using artillery and drones.

  • On several fronts, both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the occupiers made tactical advances. The Ukrainian military advanced in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area and held positions in the central part of Kurylivka, while Russian forces advanced south of Novohrygorivka in the Oleksandrivka direction.

  • In the Zaporizhia direction, Ukrainian forces were mopping up in Stepnohirsk and holding positions along both banks of the Yanchekrak River between Kamiansky and Stepov. The Russian group in the west of the region was overstretched and stretched along the front, making it vulnerable to Ukrainian counterattacks.
