The situation along the entire front line remains difficult. In Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the Russians are trying to break through new sections of the border to disperse Ukrainian troops and create the illusion of a large-scale offensive. In Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions, the invaders are trying to establish control over key settlements.
Fierce battles are taking place in Vovchansk, Kupyansk, near Lyman and Kostyantynivka, in Chasovye Yar, Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, Hulyaipol, Stepnohirsk, near Orekhov, Rodynske and Bilytsky.
Read about how the situation on the front changed during the week from February 2 to 8, 2026, in the material of Channel 24. We conduct our review of the combat map based on DeepStateMAP data.
Extremely difficult weekend: dynamics of fighting on the front
Last week was a difficult one on the front, but from Monday to Friday the number of attacks ranged from 133 to 167 per day. However, on Saturday the Russians attacked 294 times, and on Sunday – 312 times. In total, during the week, enemy troops carried out 1,364 assaults on Defense Forces positions.
The largest number of assaults falls on the Donetsk region. The situation on the front by direction is as follows:
- Pokrovsky – 320 attacks;
- Hulyaipilskyi – 149 attacks;
- Konstantinovsky – 120 attacks;
- Slavyansky – 86 attacks;
- Lymansky – 80 attacks;
- Kharkiv – 57 attacks;
- Kupyansky – 47 attacks;
- Oleksandrovsky – 34 attacks;
- Orikhivskyi – 23 attacks;
- Sumy – 17 attacks;
- Kramatorsk – 11 attacks;
- Prydniprovskyi – 6 attacks.
The front line has not changed in the Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivsk, Orikhiv, Hulyaipil and Prydniprovsk directions. We will discuss the situation in other areas later.
New border breaches in Sumy region
The situation in Sumy region is worsening, where the Russians are trying to break through the border line from north to south. In particular, the enemy previously attacked in the area of the Esman community. Last week, the Russians made a breakthrough near Myropylya.
The gray zone in Pokrovka, where the Russians tried to break through a week earlier, has also expanded. In addition, the enemy has advanced near the village of Grabovskoe.

It is worth understanding that the villages in the area of the state border have long been practically deserted, as they are under constant Russian shelling. Most of the so-called breakthroughs are an attempt to create the appearance of a large-scale offensive on the Sumy region. However, attacks by small sabotage groups are not such an offensive. However, these attacks create additional problems for the Defense Forces.
Border breach and clearing in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region
The front line in the Kharkiv region has undergone some changes over the past week. First of all, Russian troops have established themselves in Degtyarne, where they previously breached the border. The enemy has occupied this village.
Russian troops also advanced near the border near the city of Vovchansk – in the area of the village of Tykhe.

At the same time, the Defense Forces continue to clear the city of Kupyansk. Our soldiers have eliminated two of the three cells where the Russians have been completely surrounded since December. The southern part of the city has been completely cleared, the enemy remains surrounded in the northern part.
Meanwhile, the Russians claim control not only over Kupyansk, but also allegedly over Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, which is not even near the gray zone.

Russian advance towards Slavyansk
In the north of Donetsk region, the situation is extremely unfavorable for the city of Sloviansk, which is one of the key targets of the Russians in Donbas.
Russian troops advanced into Yampol and the villages south of it last week, as well as north of Siversk. The gray zone in this area has expanded significantly.

The situation is also difficult in the area of the Bakhmut-Slovyansk highway. There, Russian troops advanced to Vasyukivka, captured Bondarne, approached Nikiforivka, and broke through to Privilne. Enemy troops are trying to approach Slovyansk from both the northeast and southeast.

The enemy finally occupied Toretsk.
The Kostyantynivka direction is also one of the most difficult – the front line is approaching the outskirts of the city. The gray zone has expanded to the village of Ilyinka, which borders the city. In the city itself, the gray zone has not changed.
Last week, the enemy also advanced near Kleban-Byk in the northern outskirts of Toretsk. Some positions there were in the gray zone, which effectively denied the complete occupation of Toretsk. However, as of February 1, the enemy had finally captured the city, or rather what was left of it after the Russian attacks and battles.

The battle for Rodynskoye and Bilytske is approaching
The most difficult situation is in the Pokrov direction. On the former so-called Dobropil salient, the Russians chose the priority of advancing westward towards the towns of Rodynske and Bilytske. The Russians advanced near Zatyshko (Suvorovoye), Novy Shakhovye, and in Chervonoye Liman.
Rodynske has almost completely fallen into the gray zone. At the same time, Bilytske is under full control of the Defense Forces.

The situation in the Pokrovska and Myrnograd areas is also difficult. The enemy has advanced in the northern parts of both cities. Also from the Pokrovska area, the enemy is trying to attack the village of Hryshyne, which is northwest of Pokrovska.
In addition, the Russians advanced in the Udachny area north to the highway leading to Pavlograd.

The enemy has resumed shelling of the Ukrainian energy sector after the so-called “truce”, which was used to accumulate resources for the next strikes. Large-scale blackouts are occurring across the country. The Russians are demonstrating in every way that they are not interested in the end of the war, because they are not giving up their goals. Therefore, the only guarantee of our peace is the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Supporting our army is the main task for each of us. The easiest way is to donate to the collection.
