Parents often stand next to their children to defend Ukraine with weapons in their hands. Unfortunately, the losses in such cases are especially painful. The tragedy occurred in one of the families of Lviv region.
On the front line in the Kherson region, 27-year-old Ivan Alekseev lost his life. The sad news was reported by the Sheptytskyi City Council. They added that in the fall of 2025, his father, a soldier who also defended the country, also died.
What is known about the fallen warrior and his father?
Sailor Ivan Alekseevich Alekseev, a 27-year-old soldier from the Lviv region, gave his life for Ukraine as part of military unit A7382.
He served as an electrician driver in the assault UAV unit. The hero died on February 25, 2026 near the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka in the Kherson direction while performing a combat mission in the last battle.

The local authorities of the Sheptytsky community reported that this loss was the second tragedy for the family in recent months. Back in October 2025, they said goodbye to Ivan's father, Junior Sergeant Alexei Ivanovich Alexeyev, commander of the security department of military unit T0110. He passed away while on leave for treatment due to a serious illness.

34-year-old law enforcement officer Serhiy Chaika, known to his comrades by the call sign “Slidak”, gave his life for Ukraine at the front. He served as a driver of an armored combat vehicle in one of the brigades and always consciously took on the most dangerous tasks in order to protect others. The hero died on February 19, 2026 while performing a combat mission in the Kostyantynivka area of the Donetsk region.

The body of Mykhailo-Victor Stselnikov, with the call sign “Lemberg”, was recently delivered to Lviv. The soldier had been missing since May 2023, and his remains were only recently repatriated after an exchange and confirmation of DNA testing.

Vasyl Havrysh, an experienced ATO veteran, tragically died on February 25, 2026 in the Kupyansk direction from mine and explosive injuries received during a combat mission. He was 45 years old.
