In the Hulyaipil direction, Ukrainian forces de-occupied 300 square kilometers. They advanced by outflanking and cutting the supply lines of Russian garrisons, particularly near Kalynivske and Ternovo.
Military expert, instructor pilot, and retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Svitan, explained to Channel 24 that this is not a strategic breakthrough, but tactical operations to improve defensive positions.
What is happening in the Hulyaipil direction?
During the autumn offensive, the Russians went deep into the Ukrainian rear and “buried themselves” there. Now, in the SOU, there is an opportunity to squeeze out these garrisons using the “small tick” tactic. This is a standard tactic at the operational-tactical level, which is used by both sides.
Operations in the Hulyaipil direction are continuing, including advancing 15-20 kilometers to capture the heights before the Russians gain a foothold there.
This is also a preventive step to prevent the enemy from organizing large attacks in the Orekhov area via the Pokrovske – Donetsk – Zaporizhia highway.
“The actions of our command at the tactical level are correctly calibrated. But the main thing is that we do not dig ourselves in. Because in the pursuit of square kilometers, we can put a lot of our guys, who are already catastrophically lacking,” said Svitan.
Pay attention! OSINT analyst and military observer Vitaly Kononuchenko reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to achieve success near Hulyaipol by taking advantage of a communication failure among Russian troops due to the loss of access to Starlink. The enemy's disorganization gave the Ukrainian army the opportunity to effectively conduct an offensive operation.
