What is burning in Russia on the evening of April 11?

The Exilenova+ Telegram channel posted a video of a possible fire.

A shop at the Gagarin Aircraft Plant (KnAAZ, Sukhoi) is on fire in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (Khabarovsk Krai). Previously, one of the shops, which specializes in auxiliary components, without which serial production could become impossible, was on fire.

Cyber Boroshno analysts believe that this is a fire in workshop No. 46 of the Komsomolsk Aviation Plant – the only serial manufacturer of Su-35S and Su-57 fighters (T-50 product).

Important! The geolocation of the fire site is 50.597418,137.068525. The coordinates from where the video was shot (POV, i.e. the location of the shooting) are 50.595977,137.070070.

The workshop specializes in the manufacture of parts from polymer composite materials (PCM) for the Su-57: about 300 items of parts, of which about 100 are large-sized: aileron panels, flaperon, floors, wing tips (the wing's removable part – Channel 24), etc. The production process is mainly manual with elements of partial automation due to modern equipment, which makes the workshop critically dependent on qualified personnel and the integrity of the infrastructure,
– analysts explained.

Cyber Boroshny also added: workshop No. 46 is an indispensable link in the serial production of the Su-57 – the only Russian “fifth generation” fighter.

Interesting! Formally, the Su-57 aircraft belongs to the fifth generation of fighters. But it is often called “incompetent” – in fact, that is why the Osints put quotes on this word. Aviation expert and leading researcher of the National Academy of Sciences Valery Romanenko stated on Channel 24 that the Su-57's radar complex of the weapons control system and on-board computer constantly fail. That is, the aircraft is unfit for combat.

If the workshop is destroyed or at least damaged, it will directly stop or significantly slow down the assembly of Su-57 airframes. The Russians will be able to compensate for this process in cooperation with ONPP “Technology”, but only partially and with a long time lag.

Reference. The full name of the plant that may be on fire is very long. It is “A branch of the United Aircraft Corporation Public Joint Stock Company – Yuri Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant.”

And what kind of Su-35S aircraft?

  • Their production was announced at the end of 2025. The aircraft can carry KABs and X-class missiles.

  • The Russians then declared that the Su-35S was the most effective modern fighter in the world. They announced continued production and boasted that they were killing Ukrainians with this weapon.
