Ukraine has repeatedly stated that we are ready for mirror steps. We proposed a ceasefire for the Easter holidays this year and will act accordingly,

What preceded Zelensky's statement about mirror steps?

  • On the evening of April 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an “Easter truce.” According to him, it should last from noon on April 11 to the end of the day on April 12, 2026. It was also said that Moscow expects Ukraine to support such an initiative.
  • Much earlier, on April 6, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine had repeatedly offered Russia a ceasefire at least for Easter. But even on the afternoon of the 9th, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin had not made any decisions on this matter.
