On the night of March 2, Novorossiysk came under massive drone attack. Many explosions were heard in the city. Eventually, it became known that an oil terminal had been successfully hit.
The alert for the port city of Novorossiysk was declared at 8:00 PM on March 1, and was only canceled around 6:00 AM the next day.

In addition to strike drones from the air, the city was also attacked by BEKs – unmanned boats from the sea. This was stated, in particular, by the mayor of Novorossiysk Andriy Kravchenko. In his messages, the mayor pointed out the blocking of vehicle traffic in the area of the embankment, as well as in the direction of Kabardinka from the Sheskharis district (Fleet maintenance base).

The terminal was already damaged as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in November 2025. At the same time, a military unit with S-400 SAM launchers in Novorossiysk was attacked. The General Staff noted that the Sheskharis terminal is involved in providing support to the armed forces of the aggressor state conducting hostilities in Ukraine.
