Martial law in Ukraine is in effect until May 4, 2026, after which it will likely be extended. Therefore, it is worth checking the validity of your extension in advance.

Who will have their deferment automatically extended?
The deferral is valid for the duration of the mobilization decree, usually about three months. After that, it is either extended or automatically renewed.
In many cases, the extension occurs without additional applications and submission of documents – through electronic registers, Reserve+. There are also situations when deferrals are extended in advance, for example, until August 2026.
If the deadline has already expired and the update has not occurred in the Reserve+ application, then if there are grounds, you must contact the CCC and the Joint Venture to confirm and officially extend the postponement.
Men between the ages of 25 and 60 who have legal grounds for exemption from service are not subject to conscription . This refers to:
- people with disabilities and with a VLK conclusion on unfitness,
- parents of three or more children, single parents, guardians and relatives of fallen soldiers,
- reserved employees of strategic enterprises and civil servants,
- persons released from captivity.
Special attention is paid to students and education workers. The categories of citizens who are entitled to a deferment from conscription include:
- full-time or dual-study students who are pursuing higher education, as well as doctoral students and interns,
- teachers and scientists who have a scientific degree and work in educational institutions,
- school and college teachers, if they are registered at their main place of work for at least 0.75 of the rate.
How and when can I apply for a deferment?
The law does not provide for clear deadlines for obtaining a deferral, so you can submit an application at any time.
At the same time, it is worth doing this in advance, before being sent to the assembly point or included in the lists of the military unit, in order to avoid misunderstandings and complications.

Those subject to military service may be delivered to the CCC twice. The centers explained this as follows: the grounds for the postponement were not entered into the system in a timely manner or the necessary documents were not fully processed.
