What is known about the shelling of Zaporizhia on February 26 and its consequences?
On February 26, the occupation forces carried out a large-scale shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region, using missiles, aircraft, drones, multiple launch rocket systems, and artillery.
As a result of the attack:
- 19 apartment buildings were damaged;
- four private sector houses were destroyed or damaged;
- non-residential buildings were destroyed;
- There is no heat supply in more than 500 houses in three districts of the city.
Municipal services have already begun to eliminate the consequences: in high-rise buildings, broken windows are being covered with OSB sheets to protect residents from the cold. Specialists from district administrations are documenting the damage and recording the consequences of another Russian strike.
In Zaporizhia and Polohivskyi district, one person died and nine others were injured as a result of the attacks.
As of 08:13, rescuers had extinguished all fires that had erupted as a result of the hits and were surveying the areas to identify and provide assistance to the victims.
Psychologists of the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 16 citizens. Information on the number of victims is being clarified. They are being provided with all necessary medical assistance.

The enemy carried out 16 air strikes on Komyshuvas, Novomykolaivka, Lyubitsky, Tersyanka, Trudove, Svitlia Dolyna, Zaliznychne, Hulyaipilske, Dolyntsa, Kopany, Vozdvizhivka, and Charivne.
421 drones of various modifications, mostly FPV, attacked Zaporizhzhia, Kushugum, Novomykolaivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukyanivske, Pavlivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaki, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Malaya Tokmachka, Bilogirya, Charivne, Dorozhnyanka, Zelene, Varvarivka, Dobropillya, and Preobrazhenka.
Five hits from multiple launch rocket systems were recorded in Orekhovo, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, and Dobropilly.
Another 275 artillery strikes were launched on the territory of Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepovoye, Lukyanivske, Pavlovka, Hulyaipol, Zaliznychny, Shcherbaky, Novoandreivka, Novodanylivka, Malaya Tokmachka, Bilogirye, Charivne, Dorozhnyanka, Zelenye, Varvarivka, and Dobropilly.
