Sony has released a teaser confirming the launch of its new flagship WF-1000X headphones on February 12. The announcement comes less than a month after the release of the LinkBuds Clip model and will be a long-awaited update to the brand's top-of-the-line headphones. GSMarena reports.

What is known about the new WF-1000XM6 before the presentation?

Sony's previous flagship headphones, the WF-1000XM5, were released back in 2023, so the successor comes with a noticeable pause. Earlier this week, a leak gave us our first look at the WF-1000XM6 and a look at the design changes.

Judging by the published images, the new headphones are wider than their predecessors and have an additional microphone grille. The charging case also looks larger compared to the one used in the WF-1000XM5 .

As The Verge writes, at this point, detailed technical specifications have not been officially disclosed. It is only known that the WF-1000XM6 will have IPX4 water resistance and will be available in at least two colors – black and silver.

According to preliminary estimates, the cost of Sony's new flagship headphones will range between $300–$350 , which corresponds to the price segment of previous models in the series.
