Old sooty pots will shine like new: simple ways to clean dishes
Every housewife sooner or later faces the problem of carbon deposits on kitchen utensils. This unpleasant coating not only spoils the appearance of the pans, but can also affect the taste of the prepared dishes, informs Ukr.Media.
The problem becomes especially relevant when using cookware for cooking on high heat. Modern cleaning methods allow you to effectively deal with this problem without damaging the surface of the cookware. In this article, we will look at the most effective ways to remove carbon deposits using affordable ingredients that can be found in every home.
First, let's look at the cleaning method using a combination of vinegar and baking soda. This method is especially effective for most types of cookware, with the exception of aluminum pans without a special coating. The process begins with the preparation of a solution, where acetic acid of 9 percent concentration is combined with baking soda in equal proportions. After the mixture boils, an additional portion of soda is added, which enhances the cleaning effect. It is important to keep the solution in the pan for about thirty minutes, which allows you to soften even the most stubborn carbon deposits. The final stage is mechanical cleaning of the softened plaque with a sponge and thorough washing of the dishes.
Secondly, there is an equally effective method using ordinary table salt. This method is ideal for cast iron cookware, cauldrons and enameled pans. Salt not only helps remove carbon deposits, but also copes well with fatty contamination. The technique involves using a significant amount of salt (about a third of a standard package), which is evenly distributed over the bottom of the dishes. In combination with detergent and thorough mechanical processing, this method gives excellent results. An alternative option involves preparing a concentrated salt solution and then heating it to boiling directly in the contaminated pan.
Regular care of your cookware will help prevent the formation of heavy deposits in the future. It is important to choose a cleaning method depending on the material of the pan so as not to damage the surface. Timely removal of dirt will significantly extend the life of your cookware and make the cooking process more enjoyable. With the right approach to cleaning, even the most difficult dirt can be removed without the use of aggressive chemicals.
